Pavan Kavali, MD, is an Associate Professor of Radiology and Surgery at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. He completed his medical degree at the Morehouse School of Medicine and his residency at Emory University School of Medicine. He finished his Interventional Radiology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. He joined the IR faculty at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University School of Medicine in 2016 and became the Director of IR at Barnes Jewish West County Hospital in 2018. He has also led the charge of developing a multi-disciplinary Pulmonary Embolism Response Team (PERT) at Barnes Jewish Hospital. Pavan’s additional clinical interests include complex venous reconstructions including acute and chronic DVT management, interventional oncology, interventional therapy for portal hypertension (TIPS, BRTO), pulmonary AVM embolization, and uterine fibroid embolization.
