Dr. Steven Pugliese, MD is currently an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Division at the University of Pennsylvania. In addition to being part of the Pulmonary Vascular Disease Program at Penn, he is the director of PERT at the Hospital University of Pennsylvania as well as the Comprehensive Pulmonary Embolism Program. He has a large outpatient practice focusing on the follow-up care of patients who have suffered acute pulmonary embolism as well as patients with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH). He is particularly interested in providing transition care for post-pulmonary embolism patients, as well as care for patients who experience ongoing shortness of breath following an acute pulmonary embolism.
