Mahir Elder is an Interventional cardiologist and has the expertise patients need to manage even the most complex heart conditions. Dr.Elder is the founder of Heart & Vascular Institute, which has locations in Dearborn, Detroit, Southfield, Wayne, and Warren
Michigan. Dr. Elder specializes in minimally invasive procedures. His extensive medical background, including seven national board certifications, allows him to deliver exceptional care.
He serves as a clinical professor of medicine at Wayne State University's School of Medicine and Michigan State
University College of Human Medicine in East Lansing. Dr. Elder founded the first comprehensive pulmonary embolism response team (PERT) in 2012. He is also on the board of directors for the National PERT Consortium. He is well-published in the field of pulmonary
embolism treatment.He was named Wayne State University School of Medicine's Teacher of the Year and Mentor of the Year, Crain's Healthcare Hero, Hour Magazine's Top Doctor, and has earned a People's Choice Award for Compassionate Doctor Recognition.
