Dr. William Stringer is currently a Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and is boarded in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary, and Critical Care Medicine. He received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of California, San Diego and performed his Internal Medicine Residency, Chief Residency, and Pulmonary-Critical Care Fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance California. He is active in medical education, patient care, and clinical trials research at the Lundquist Institute for Biomedical Innovation at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. His research interests involve physiologic testing (primarily Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing, or CPET) in a variety of diseases including COPD, Asthma, ILD, Heart Failure, Pulmonary Embolism, and Long COVID. His wife is an anesthesiologist and they have four adult children. His hobbies include history, cycling, golf, and bluegrass music. He plays a five-string banjo.
