David M. Dudzinski MD JD FACC FAHA FASE is a critical care cardiologist and echocardiographer at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, where he directs the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, and where he created and directs a Critical Care Cardiology fellowship training program. He has been active in the efforts with the development and promulgation of Critical Care Cardiology as a specialty and academic niche. Dr. Dudzinski also has helped grow the Massachusetts General Hospital Pulmonary Embolism Response Team (PERT), authored a number of position papers on the philosophy and operations of a PERT, and lectures nationally on multidisciplinary acute PE care and echocardiography in PE. Dr. Dudzinski serves an associate editor for the New England Journal of Medicine series Case Records of the Massachusetts General Hospital and on the editorial boards for Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography and Journal of Intensive Care Medicine. Dr. Dudzinski is also an attorney, and a member of the American College of Cardiology’s national medical professional liability working group and Ethics and Compliance Committee. He lives in suburban Boston with his wife and three children, and is a volunteer leader for the Boy Scouts of America.
