Dr. Balanescu (@dinubalanescu) is an assistant professor of medicine and general cardiology fellow-in-training at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He completed medical school in his native country of Romania, followed by a 1-year research fellowship in cardio-oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, and internal medicine residency and chief residency at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. His main academic interests include catheter-based therapies for pulmonary embolism and pulmonary hypertension, nuances of cardiac catheterization in cancer patients, and immunotherapy-induced cardiotoxicity.
