Juan J Ciampi Dopazo, MD, EBIR,FCIRSE (Hospital Universitario Virgen de las Nieves, Granada-Spain) is an Interventional radiologist with experience in several Spanish hospitals (Hospital Universitario de Toledo, Hospital Universitario Gregorio Marañón-Madrid) and in Canada (McMaster University Hospitals-Hamilton, ON) and a great reputation in PE treatment since more than 10 years.
He has a special interest in venous pathology (pulmonary thromboembolism, DVT, vein recanalization) and embolization in different vascular territories. He has participated in various international scientific publications on the treatment of pulmonary thromboembolic disease (some as main author). He is the main author of the standard of practice for the endovascular management of PE by the Spanish Society of Interventional Radiology and currently co-leads the working group for the publication of the standard of practice for acute and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary disease of the European Society of Interventional Radiology (CIRSE).
